REASONS TO KILL THE HEALTH CARE BILL - I

 

 

 

·        Under this bill the Secretary of Health and Human Services will have the authority to determine which procedures doctors may use.  That means he could outlaw some procedures currently in use.

 

 

 

·        Every person knows that not all doctors are equal and not all procedures are equal.

 

 

 

·        As an example, cancer could be treated by surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy.

 

 

 

·        In our nation’s entire history, patients and doctors could mutually make decisions concerning which doctor and which treatment would be used.

 

 

 

·        Under this bill, patients and doctors would lose this freedom to decide which treatment would be used.  The government would take away their freedom of choice and tell them what they must do.

 

 

 

·        In the entire 234 years of our nation’s existence there has never been such an assault on our personal freedom.

 

 

 

·        The government is not qualified to dictate these life and death decisions.  Millions would die because they were denied necessary life saving procedures.

 

 

 

·        The bill further provides that the authority of the Secretary of Health and Human Services to determine which procedures are allowable is permanent and may not be repealed by future Congresses.

REASONS TO KILL THE HEALTH CARE BILL II

 

 

 

·        The bill aims to give Health Insurance to an additional 30 million people.  It expressly forbids Health Insurance companies from denying coverage to illegal aliens.

 

 

 

·        Part of this additional cost would be covered by cutting at least $500,000,000,000 from Medicare.

 

 

 

·        One of the cuts would be a drastic reduction in the reimbursement rate for physicians treating Medicare patients.

 

 

 

·        The doctors, now unable to pay their office expenses, would either stop treating Medicare patients, or leave the field of medicine entirely.

 

 

 

·        The combination of an additional 30 million people with health insurance and fewer doctors would result in greatly reduced access to medical care for all Americans.

 

 

 

·        Where an appointment to see a specialist may now be made for within a 3 week period, if the bill is passed, that same appointment might mean a wait of over a year.

 

 

 

·        People would die waiting for this needed medical treatment.

 

 

 

·        In countries with Socialized Medicine like England, people come to the United States to get the life-saving treatment denied them in their own country.

 

 

 

·        Why would congress want to bring that failed system to our country?

REASONS TO KILL THE HEALTH CARE BILL III

 

 

 

·        Since the Health Care Bill would give Health Insurance to an additional 30 million people, all Americans would have a drastic reduction in their access to health care.

 

 

 

·        The  Stimulus Bill has already set up the panels to ration the scarce medical care.

 

 

 

·        The bill reflects the medical philosophy of two doctors, Dr. Ezekial Emmanuel and Dr. David Blumenthal.

 

 

 

·        These two doctors had written many articles published in leading medical journals stating their philosophy.

 

 

 

·        They believe that medical costs for Senior Citizens are too high.

 

 

 

·        They state that since old people are no longer productive, it is wasteful to give them expensive procedures.

 

 

 

·        The procedures should instead go to younger people who are still productive.

 

 

 

·        Doctors like Dr. Ezekial Emmanuel and Dr. David Blumenthal would be on the rationing panels that decide which patient may receive necessary life-saving medical care.

 

 

 

·        The bill further provides that the establishment of the medical rationing panels is permanent and could not be repealed by future congresses.

·        Since the Health Care Bill intends to give Health Insurance to an additional 30 million people, the huge additional costs have to be obtained from other sources.

 

 

 

·        One source will be a 40% tax on private health insurance plans.

 

 

 

·        Since the added cost would bankrupt many businesses, they would pass along the costs to their employees.  They would make up the added cost in one of two ways:

 

o       Reduce the quality of the Health Insurance plan offered the employees.

 

o       Pass along the added cost as a payroll deduction.

 

 

 

·              The bill further provides that every American MUST purchase              

 

           Health Insurance.  Failure to purchase Health Insurance would

 

           result in an Income Tax penalty of thousands of dollars.  Young  

 

           people and families who are struggling to pay their rent or

 

           mortgage would be forced to buy something they don’t want and

 

           can’t afford.

 

 

 

·              The bill would punish all Americans:

 

o      Old people would be denied care and die.

 

o      Working families would have either reduced care or less take-home pay,

 

o      Young people would be forced to buy something they don’t need and can’t afford.

 

o      All Americans would lose their freedom to choose their medical providers and procedures.

 

o      All Americans would have reduced medical care and increased cost.

·        The health care bills passed by the House and Senate reduce American freedom.  Forcing people to buy insurance and empowering government to dictate what your doctor does would take away the rights Americans have had since our nation was founded.
